This is an Unpaid Internship at TWC Magazine, located remotely with a strict requirement for candidates to be based in California, Washington, or Oregon. TWC Magazine, founded in 2025, is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the stories of both emerging and established artists across the West Coast, from the Pacific Northwest to Southern California. This role offers aspiring journalists, music fans, and storytellers a unique opportunity to kickstart their portfolio, gaining hands-on experience by diving deep into regional music scenes and contributing authentic, impactful content.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Feature Writing & Profiles: Pitch, write, and develop engaging profiles, Q&As, and deep-dives on West Coast musical artists.
• Scene Reporting: Cover local music news, venue openings, album releases, and festival lineups within an assigned market.
• Live Reviews & Photo Essays: Attend local shows as accredited press to provide reviews and live event coverage.
• Trend Commentary: Write editorial pieces analyzing the intersection of music, style, and culture on the West Coast.
• Editorial Collaboration: Participate in remote pitch meetings and collaborate with the editorial team to refine writing and copy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This internship is ideal for aspiring journalists, music fans, and storytellers who are currently residing in California, Washington, or Oregon. Candidates must possess a thorough familiarity with the local music scene in their chosen coverage area (Pacific Northwest, Bay Area, or Southern California).
• Experience: No prior professional experience in journalism is explicitly required, as this role is designed for portfolio development. However, a strong aptitude for pitching stories, conducting interviews, and reviewing live events is essential. A key requirement is being 21 years of age or older if there is an intent to cover live shows held at nightlife venues or bars.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to produce engaging written content with a distinct and authentic voice, rather than relying on AI. Strong organizational skills to consistently meet deadlines without reminders. An openness and receptiveness to constructive editorial feedback to refine writing and reporting.
