Editorial Intern, Crypto | Andreessen Horowitz
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Andreessen Horowitz, located remotely. Andreessen Horowitz is a venture capital firm, founded in 2009, that backs entrepreneurs building the future through technology, managing over $100B across multiple funds. The a16z crypto team aims to foster innovation and grow the crypto ecosystem, focusing on productive uses of blockchain technology beyond speculation. This role offers a unique opportunity for a student to gain a front-row seat at a direct media operation that has pioneered influential content across various formats, learning from established editors from traditional media and in-house content marketing.

• Mission: This person will assist in the production and expansion of multimedia and social media content for a16z crypto’s editorial operation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Multimedia Production: Assist with the production of editorial content, especially multimedia, including creating and producing short-form video clips for YouTube and social media.
• Clipping Expansion: Help expand the clipping operation, strategically defining and refining the team’s approach and strategy.
• Podcast Support: Produce, overhaul, and update podcast shownotes; clean up, segment by topic, and help time-stamp transcripts; and perform occasional research and preparation for episodes.
• Content Editing & Maintenance: Edit content by transforming partner interviews into posts, repackaging full posts, writing and editing new posts, and updating past content archives for site metadata.
• Special Projects & Design: Help produce special series and projects, such as data reports and op-eds, and assist with basic or other editorial design as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student with a strong interest in technology, science, computer science, or specific passion projects.
• Experience: Past experience in other media outlets, conducting publishing and other experiments, or building social media profiles.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, highly productive with great organizational or analytical skills, low ego, high empathy, and capacity to collaborate effectively while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
• Bonus: Some familiarity with crypto, technical experience with various multimedia editing tools, and previous experience in a media environment.
