• Team: Reports to the Watershed Education Manager at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.
• Mission: Foster environmental stewardship and equity by bridging the Cedar River Watershed and diverse regional communities.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Development: Plan and deliver thematic public education and interpretive programs.
• Curriculum Design: Assist in lesson planning and create educational materials for multicultural community engagement.
• Environmental Justice: Apply environmental justice and equity theory to ensure inclusive public outreach activities.
• Community Engagement: Lead watershed tours and educate various groups on watershed management and conservation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled Undergraduate Junior, Community College, or Graduate Student in Education, Ethnic Studies, Environmental Science, Recreation, Communications, or Social Sciences, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA for undergrads or 3.0 for grads.
• Experience: Prior experience in leadership, organizing groups/events, public-facing roles, or program delivery.
• Skills: Proficiency in social media.
