Motor Vehicle Title Clerk | Boulder County Sheriff’s Office
The Tone:
This is a part-time, benefited position at Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, located across Boulder County, CO in Boulder, Longmont, and Lafayette. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office serves the community through its Motor Vehicle, Recorder, and Elections divisions, upholding values of accountability, adaptability, alignment, equity, and inclusion. This role is vital for providing efficient and accurate titling and registration services for all vehicles in the county, as well as issuing disability placards, directly serving the people of Boulder County.

• Mission: To title and register all vehicles in the county and issue disability placards with accuracy and compliance.
• Tech Stack: DRIVES (Motor Vehicle) computer system, MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Teams)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance: Research, understand, and meet Colorado Department of Revenue legislative compliance and DRIVES computer system rules.
• Public Service: Ensure accuracy and compliance of Motor Vehicle transactions, confirming public needs in person, via email, or by phone.
• Research and Application: Review state statutes, rules, and regulations, staying current to inform service delivery and maintain confidentiality of public information.
• Process Improvement: Provide input for updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and meet speed and accuracy expectations for transactions.
• Diverse Engagement: Perform VIN inspections following safety guidelines and demonstrate excellent customer service, fostering equity and inclusion with diverse groups.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years of office experience, which may include retail, restaurants, banking, or healthcare sectors.
• Skills: Ability to research and interpret statute, rules, and reference materials; proficiency with MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Teams; data entry skills; ability to assist members of the public all day while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Bonus: Bilingual in English and Spanish, prior experience using web-based software programs.
