Job Title: Mobile Robotics & Automation Intern

Internship Overview
nVent’s Mobile Robotics & Automation Internship offers a 12-week full-time opportunity during Summer 2026. Interns will support various facets of day-to-day plant operations, gaining valuable exposure and development experiences within a global manufacturing organization, particularly in the realm of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR).

Location: Anoka, MN

In This Position, You Will Get To:

  • Learn the application of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot).
  • Learn and create video training by translating AGV/AMR knowledge for users at different levels.
  • Learn, create, and monitor daily usages of AGV & AMR to support material handling in productions.
  • Learn and create inspection checklists of AGV & AMR.
  • Learn, collect, analyze, and summarize data to prepare reports and recommend solutions for AGV/AMR issues.
  • Assist with usability testing to validate and improve UI/UX design.
  • Perform manual testing to uncover issues not covered by the robot’s fleet manager.
  • Support the expansion of AGV/AMR usage at new and international production sites.

Internship Details:

  • Interns are paid $25 per hour.
  • Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work.
  • Relocation and housing support is available for eligible candidates.
  • Interns and Co-ops receive paid time off, paid sick time, paid volunteer time, and paid holidays.
  • Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance may be offered a subsequent internship or full-time offer of employment with nVent.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an engineering or related major (ME, EE, CE, CS, IE, Robotics/Automation, Mechatronics).
  • Students from non-engineering majors with AMR/AGV knowledge and video-content skills are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with AMR/AGV systems or creating video content is a plus but not required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future; nVent does not offer sponsorship.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
  • Energy to listen, desire to learn, and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change.
  • Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and countries.
