Merchandising Assistant | Sally Beauty

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Sally Beauty, located in Plano, TX, reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West. Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. leads in professional hair color, selling and distributing beauty supplies across 11 countries through its Sally Beauty and Beauty Systems Group businesses. Sally Beauty provides hair, nail, and skin care products to retail customers seeking salon quality at a value price, while Beauty Systems Group serves salons with professional brands. This role is essential for providing administrative support to the merchandising team, taking pride in product data integrity, and solving issues throughout the SKU lifecycle to support promotional integrity.

• Team: Merchandising team, reporting into the Support Center
• Mission: This role owns the integrity of new item setup and promotional data entry and maintenance, working with various organizational stakeholders to identify and resolve issues throughout the SKU lifecycle and ensure promotional integrity within the beauty retail industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Item Management: Responsible for all new item setup and maintenance at a SKU Level, including tracking, reporting, and consistent communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Promotional Support: Assists the Buyer in setting up promotions, seasonal programs, and vendor coops, including tracking status and communicating with various cross-functional stakeholders.
• Visual Displays: Assists the Buyer with the creation and ongoing maintenance of planograms and visual merchandising displays.
• Marketing Review: Assists in proofing marketing materials designated for online platforms or in-store distribution.
• Project Assistance: Provides additional support on various merchandising projects as needed by the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possesses or is working towards a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: Preferred to have prior experience within the retail industry, providing a foundational understanding of retail operations.
• Skills: Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; exhibits strong organizational capabilities; and applies excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
