Member Service Representative | Credit Union

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Credit Union, located in San Diego, CA. In this position, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately processing financial transactions for members. You will also play a key role in promoting the Credit Union’s products and services, contributing to the organization’s growth. Maintaining high-quality service standards is essential to ensure a positive member experience.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and efficient member account transactions while actively promoting Credit Union products and services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Transactions: Handle a variety of routine member account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, wires, and Cashier Check purchases.
• Cash Management: Perform daily cash drawer balancing, process direct deposit forms, manage daily mail, and provide dual control for balancing the cash vault.
• Product Promotion: Identify member financial needs to effectively offer or refer Credit Union products and services, participating in campaigns and meeting performance goals.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record and track all member interactions, referrals, and sales, adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Member Support: Answer basic member inquiries, conduct routine account research as needed, and assist members with completing applicable forms.
• Compliance Adherence: Participate in AML/BSA compliance training and strictly follow Credit Union policies, including CTR rules, suspicious activity referral, and OFAC comparisons.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a high school diploma or equivalent, possessing foundational knowledge in customer service and financial transactions.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Skills: Demonstrated willingness to learn how to identify member needs for offering financial products, effective human relations, and strong communication abilities.
• Bonus: Prior cash handling experience is preferred.
