Medina Office Clinical Intern (Fall 2026) | Bellefaire JCB

The Tone:
This is an internship at Bellefaire JCB, located in Medina, OH. Bellefaire JCB is among the nation’s largest and most experienced child service agencies, providing a variety of behavioral health, substance abuse, education, and prevention services. This role offers graduate students the opportunity to gain clinical experience in home, school, and office settings, working with individuals, families, and groups. The intern will contribute to the agency’s mission of helping over 30,000 youth and their families each year achieve resiliency, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Medina, OH
• Team: Reports to an authorized, licensed field supervisor within various clinical programs.
• Mission: This person will provide clinical services to children, adolescents, and their families, supporting their well-being and development across multiple settings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide diverse clinical services, including individual and/or group counseling, therapeutic behavioral services, crisis intervention, and assessment.
• Formulate and facilitate goal-oriented treatment plans, including progress updates with guardians and other providers.
• Assist in crisis intervention, problem resolution, and process discussions with clients as assigned and needed.
• Complete all required trainings and thoroughly maintain necessary client records in accordance with regulations and standards.
• Serve as an advocate and liaison for clients with schools, the justice system, social services, and other community agencies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current Master’s student in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy. Possess a valid Ohio Trainee license (Social Work Trainee, Counselor Trainee, or Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee).
• Experience: Prior experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Skills:
• Demonstrated strong clinical skills in therapy, crisis intervention, education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
• Proficiency in cultural competency, working professionally with diverse individuals, groups, and communities.
• Clear and professional verbal, nonverbal, and written communication abilities in a professional context.
• Commitment to professional and ethical conduct, adhering to Agency and NASW codes of conduct and policies.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the Agency’s insurance criteria.
