Child and Adolescent Group Services (CAGS) Intern (Fall 2026) | Bellefaire JCB
The Tone:
This is an internship at Bellefaire JCB, located in Lorain, OH. Bellefaire JCB is among the nation’s largest and most experienced child service agencies, providing a wide array of behavioral health, substance abuse, education, and prevention services. Through more than 25 programs, the agency helps over 30,000 youth and their families annually to achieve resiliency, dignity, and self-sufficiency. This role is crucial in delivering clinical care, ensuring client safety, and offering training within a community-based partial hospitalization setting.

• Mission: To provide clinical care, safety, and training to clients in a community-based partial hospitalization setting.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer: Administer appropriate therapeutic groups to youth through various clinical topics based on client needs.
• Provide: Provide direct care and service to groups of clients in a community-based partial hospitalization setting.
• Facilitate: Facilitate therapeutic behavioral services within treatment plan meetings and progress updates with guardians and other treatment providers.
• Assist: Assist in crisis intervention, problem resolution, and process discussions with clients on an assigned and as needed basis.
• Co-facilitate: Co-facilitate weekly group sessions as part of the clinical team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required. May be enrolled as a first or second year student in a Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy. Required licensure: SWT, CT, or LSW.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Skills:
• Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate strong clinical skills, including training and/or classroom experience expertise in therapy, crisis intervention, education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy.
• Interpersonal Communication: Communicate clearly using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills in a professional context, demonstrating clear understanding and use of professional language.
• Cultural Competency: Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity, and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups, and communities representing various cultural and personal backgrounds.
• Independent Judgment: Demonstrate ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
• Bonus: Must have reliable transportation and be open to working a flexible schedule.
