Job Description: Medical Assistant Roles

This posting is for various Medical Assistant roles (Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered, and Medical Assistant) within Providence Medical Group, primarily in General Pediatrics & Pediatric Specialties clinics located in Spokane (Downtown, North, South), Liberty Lake, and Spokane Valley, Washington. Providence seeks caregivers who are patient-focused, committed, and respectful, empowering them to thrive.

Role Overview:
Medical Assistants are integral members of the care team, working closely with licensed practitioners to provide comprehensive patient care. The role involves a combination of administrative and clinical tasks.

Key Responsibilities & Skills Utilized:
Administrative Tasks: Maintaining patient records, clerical computer and phone skills.
Clinical Tasks: Preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams.
Core Skills: Customer service/people skills, medical terminology, and hands-on clinical skills.

Typical Job Skills Include:
• Taking vital signs (e.g., pulse, blood pressure).
• Updating patient medical records (medications, allergies, etc.).
• Performing certain medical procedures.
• Specimen collection and lab testing.

Sign-on Bonus: A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet all payment conditions. This is in addition to the standard compensation and benefits package.

Career Growth Opportunities:

Senior Medical Assistant: Pay range of $19.38 – $30.23.
Lead Medical Assistant: Pay range of $21.54 – $33.59.

Different Medical Assistant Tiers and Requirements:

1. Associate Medical Assistant
Salary Range (NE Washington): Min: $17.06, Max: $26.07. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hr or higher depending on experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants OR
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).
Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 months prior experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• 6 months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).

2. Medical Assistant Registered
Salary Range (NE Washington): Min: $17.06, Max: $26.07. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hr or higher depending on experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months of healthcare experience.
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework/Training in Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary, or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk.

3. Medical Assistant
Salary Range (NE Washington): Min: $18.50, Max: $28.27. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $22.19/hr or higher depending on experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants OR
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
