Job Description

The University of Georgia’s Office of Experiential Learning (OEL) seeks a Media Intern (Student Assistant) to support its marketing and communications efforts. OEL’s mission is to articulate and implement a vision for experiential learning at UGA, engaging students, faculty, staff, and the community in impactful, real-world learning experiences.

This is a temporary, part-time (10-20 hours/week) undergraduate student internship position working primarily on-site (in-person) between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Some campus travel and occasional after-hours work may be required.

The intern will report to the OEL Scholarships & Public Relations Coordinator and focus on digital media channels. Responsibilities will include supporting the marketing and communications functions of the office. While no prior experience is required, preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in digital marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, media, or graphic design, particularly those with videography and video content creation experience.

Key responsibilities and qualifications include:

Excellent written, oral, and communication skills: Essential for all aspects of the role.
Organizational and project management skills: Necessary for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Graphic design capabilities: Basic skills are required.
Strong working knowledge of Instagram and LinkedIn: Essential for managing social media presence.
Preferred skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Canva, and experience executing digital campaign strategies.

The position does not involve financial responsibilities, use of a P-card, driving, interaction with children, or security access. Offers of employment are contingent on a background check.
