Job Description:
LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. (LGESMI) is offering a Mechanical Engineering (ME) / Electrical Engineering (EE) Internship/Co-Op for the Summer 2024 in Troy, MI. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
As an intern, you will work directly with a team of engineers on projects that offer the opportunity to learn the general battery production process and understand battery materials, including their strength and composition.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with engineers in the Advanced Automotive Battery Division on product enhancement and new product development.
• Interface with team members in the plant and office, as well as external suppliers, contractors, etc.
• Evaluate existing procedures for opportunities to improve product design and manufacturability.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
• Develop procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules to support process development and improvement.
• Research new technologies, equipment, and supplies to help improve the operation.
Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering – Junior or Senior standing.
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals.
