Job Description
Master Thesis: AI-Enabled Operating Models for the Future of Software Supply | Ericsson
The Tone:
This is a Master’s thesis project at Ericsson, located in Linköping or Stockholm, Sweden. Ericsson’s Software Supply organizations face increasing demands for efficiency, scalability, data quality, and operational excellence. This role is crucial for exploring how Artificial Intelligence can transform future operating models, shifting work from manual transaction execution toward standardized, exception-based, and insight-led operations. The work will develop a target operating model that balances automation, human oversight, governance, and decision-making for the future of Software Supply.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Linköping or Stockholm, Sweden
• Team: Software Supply organizations
• Mission: To explore how AI can reshape the future operating model of Software Supply and develop a target operating model that balances automation, human oversight, governance, and decision-making.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Analyze selected Software Supply processes and operational workflows, establishing a baseline of current work including task volumes, exceptions, data quality dependencies, and cost-to-serve.
• Model Development: Investigate how AI can support different levels of operational autonomy and develop a target operating model categorizing activities as Assist, Recommend, Execute with approval, or Execute under defined policy.
• Role Definition: Define future roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and human-in-the-loop approval points.
• Governance Assessment: Assess governance, control, risk, and compliance considerations for the AI-enabled operating model.
• Recommendations & Documentation: Identify implications for future skills, reskilling, and organizational adoption, develop recommendations for the evolution of Software Supply operations toward 2030+, and document findings in a written thesis report.
The Must-Haves
