Marketing Intern | Insomniac Events

The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Insomniac Events, located in Calabasas, CA. Insomniac produces immersive music festivals and events globally, known for state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics, sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performers, and next-generation special effects. This role offers hands-on experience across various marketing divisions, providing a well-rounded understanding of the company’s marketing ecosystem and contributing creative ideas to brand strategy. The position is central to assisting the marketing team in maintaining brand consistency and achieving successful campaigns.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (16–29 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, Calabasas, CA
• Pay: $16.90 USD – $18.00 USD Hourly
• Team: Reports to the Brand Strategy Manager
• Mission: To assist and learn about key marketing teams, contributing creative ideas and project management support to achieve brand success.
• Tech Stack: Asana, Photoshop, Canva

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn: Shadow leads from Insomniac’s marketing divisions, including festival, concert, technology, digital advertising, and social marketing.
• Develop: Contribute creative ideas to the brand strategy team for content and campaigns, and research relevant trends.
• Manage: Assist with project management tasks via Asana, including streamlining asset approvals, improving organization, and submitting tickets.
• Resolve: Anticipate challenges and propose effective solutions to ensure the brand’s success.
• Align: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across multiple marketing channels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac’s brands.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, highly proficient in presentation development, excellent writing and communication abilities, motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude, active problem solver with a sense of urgency.
• Bonus: Experience with image editing software such as Photoshop or Canva.
