Job Description
Omnitrans is seeking a temporary part-time intern to assist with the development and implementation of marketing communications and outreach, using both digital and print materials. The internship is for a maximum of 960 hours and can be worked part-time or full-time. The intern will work on one or more projects based on their skills and interests, and will also support ongoing marketing and community outreach activities.
Position Purpose: To assist the Marketing Director and Outreach Coordinator in developing marketing and communications materials.
Responsibilities include:
• Marketing Communications Projects:
• Conceiving, creating, and promoting a customer education video series.
• Assisting in planning and implementing agency social media promotions.
• Working on the establishment, promotion, and outreach of a new Students in Transit Advisory Council.
• Working with the marketing team to plan and produce marketing communication materials.
• Conferring with relevant stakeholders during material development.
• Developing a budget and timeline for projects and materials.
• Assisting in procuring goods and services needed for material production.
• Ongoing Marketing Communications Activities:
• Participating in weekly marketing planning sessions.
• Assisting with daily administrative duties.
• Providing input on marketing communications strategies.
• Creating an editorial calendar with trending topics for social media and scheduling content.
• Performing market research on competitor marketing materials and trends.
• Assisting at community outreach events.
• Writing articles for the agency blog.
• Shooting and editing photos/videos for marketing materials and channels.
Accountability: The intern will report to the Marketing & Communications Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of marketing communications principles, practices, techniques, and technology. Demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge is required.
• Working knowledge of:
• Adobe Suite software (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Canva
• Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel)
Selection Process:
• Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program at a college or university, pursuing a career in Marketing & Communications.
• Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
• Screening for relevant qualifying experience based on education and experience.
• Selection process may include written, performance, and oral examinations.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam, drug test, and criminal background investigation (including Live Scan fingerprinting).
