Marketing and Communications Intern | NAAIA – National African American Insurance Association
The Tone:
This is a 10-week remote internship at NAAIA, the National African American Insurance Association. NAAIA is a professional association dedicated to diversifying the insurance industry and empowering Black communities by leveraging insurance tools and careers to build generational wealth. This role is crucial for supporting internal and external communication activities, developing program marketing, and amplifying awareness efforts through digital assets and video content. The intern will contribute to a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and prosper within the insurance industry.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $20–$25 hourly
• Team: Reports to the Director, Strategic Communications
• Mission: This person supports communication activities, program marketing, and public relations to amplify NAAIA’s mission and engagement with various audiences.
• Tech Stack: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut
What You’ll Actually Do
• Digital Asset Creation: Develop digital assets and promotional materials, such as flyers, social graphics, and presentation slides, for fundraising and awareness efforts.
• Video Content Production: Repurpose recorded webinars into short-form content with soundbites, thumbnails, and captions for platforms like Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
• Program Marketing Development: Create program marketing materials for NAAIA National events, including webinars, Summit Series, and the National Conference.
• Strategic Initiative Support: Assist the marketing team on strategic initiatives, programs, and campaigns aligned with the organization’s long-term goals.
• Communications Support: Contribute to communication activities for both internal (board, members, chapter leaders) and external (partners, industry, public) audiences.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, self-motivation, detail-orientation, and a collaborative mindset.
• Bonus: Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or other design and video editing tools. Interest in learning about the insurance and financial services industry and its career opportunities. Interest in professional development, leadership, and strategic communications.
