About Sterling’s Summer Internship Program
The Sterling Summer Intern Program is a paid 11-week program running from June 1 – August 14, 2026. This program provides interns with hands-on work experience, allowing them to build upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom. Interns will work side-by-side with industry leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to a team passionate about developing life-saving drugs around the world.
Throughout the 11-week program, interns will engage in defined individual projects to learn about GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) fundamentals and techniques directly from Sterling professionals. The program culminates in individual presentations delivered to Sterling leaders.
Your Responsibilities
As an intern in this role, you will be working in a GMP Manufacturing setting, with a strong emphasis on GMP documentation and process flows. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Staging batch records
- Batch record review
- Requesting labels
- Labelling of materials
- Batch record closure
- Tracking the status of batch records
In addition to documentation tasks, you will also gain exposure to the various stages of batch processes within different manufacturing Bays. You will play an active role in reviewing current processes and contributing to improvement initiatives within these Bays. Furthermore, you will gain exposure to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other critical documentation.
The position requires adherence to Sterling’s core competencies and non-negotiables, as well as demonstrated expertise in functional competencies included in this position profile.
Requirements For The Role
- Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology with a Chemistry Minor, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Must be at least a Sophomore level in your academic program.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
- Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.
- Excellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Awareness or prior work experience in a GMP environment is preferred.
- Competency with IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, is essential.
