Investment Banking Managing Director | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Intrepid Investment Bankers, a specialty investment bank and the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. The firm provides M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory services, offering Managing Directors the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to client engagements and take on important leadership initiatives within the firm. This role is crucial for Intrepid’s national expansion, leveraging significant deal flow and contributing to a unique entrepreneurial culture that values teamwork, transparency, and the development and well-being of its team members.

• Mission: Lead the origination and execution of M&A transactions within a specific industry group and manage client relationships.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Origination: Build relationships with deal referral sources and business owners to generate new business.
• Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and generate new prospect leads for the firm.
• Client Management: Manage the client relationship and oversee all communication with clients and counter-parties.
• Transaction Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the transaction from initial engagement to close.
• Practice Leadership: Lead a specific practice or product area, as applicable, and develop thought leadership in target sectors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive level professional with outstanding academic credentials from a top tier school, a deep understanding of industry specific clients, and extensive experience in sell-side M&A advisory.
• Experience: 10+ years in sell-side M&A advisory, including a minimum of 5 years focused on a specific industry, with a proven record of originating and executing M&A transactions.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, strong ability to engage with prospects and intermediaries, develop relationships, and possession of FINRA Series 7, 63 or 79, and Series 24 licenses.
• Bonus: A team player willing to take an integral role in the firm’s growth and assist other bankers in firm building activities like training, recruiting, and mentoring.
