• Team: Manages a team of Business Development Officers, reporting to ABL and bank leadership.
• Mission: Lead the sourcing, structuring, and closing of asset-based lending opportunities and participations, driving strategic growth and market penetration.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Market Leadership: Lead a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs) responsible for sourcing and closing private equity-owned asset-based loans and participations in syndicated asset-based loans.
• Strategy Execution: Develop and implement Huntington’s strategic growth plans for private equity ABL and its participation strategy with peer bank syndication teams, aligning with broader corporate goals.
• Business Development: Oversee new business origination, including prospecting, external sponsor coverage, arranger relationships, and peer bank syndication coverage, and manage strategic relationships.
• Deal Execution: Direct all aspects of deal execution, from underwriting preparation and credit approval to documentation negotiation, ensuring alignment with Huntington’s credit standards.
• Internal Collaboration: Build and maintain strong internal relationships with bank partners, facilitating communication, ensuring consistent pipeline reporting, and compliance with policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree, with a deep understanding of asset-based lending, sponsor lending, finance, or capital markets.
• Experience: 10+ years in asset-based lending, sponsor lending, finance, or capital markets, including managing teams that negotiate complex sole and administrative agent asset-based lending capital structures.
• Skills: Strong negotiation skills, including documentation and structuring expertise; excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term internal partner, sponsor, and intermediary relationships.
• Bonus: 12+ years of experience within asset-based lending, sponsor finance, leveraged finance, or capital markets; prior leadership or team management experience.
