Manager – Operations | DSV – Global Transport and Logistics

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DSV – Global Transport and Logistics, located in Florence, KY. This role is crucial for ensuring the day-to-day site operations run smoothly, overseeing warehousing, receiving, and shipping processes. The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Sun-Tue & every other Wed 5:00am – 5:30pm.
• Location: In-person, Florence, KY
• Pay: $82520–$123560 yearly
• Team: Reports to the General Manager, manages warehouse operations supervisors & support staff.
• Mission: This person ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping, while meeting company and client objectives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Power Point), WMS systems, client systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Oversight: Develop and manage systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, guidelines, and client SLAs.
• Performance Management: Drive continuous improvement efforts, identify cost savings, and manage operations to meet prescribed productivity, service goals, and client KPIs.
• People Leadership: Hire, train, and develop team members, conduct performance appraisals, manage labor, and address performance issues to foster a motivated and high-performing team.
• Resource Planning: Plan daily work schedules based on volume demands, assess priorities, assign duties to warehouse staff, and manage space utilization, supplies, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Client Relationship Management: Maintain high customer service standards, ensure client accounts receive necessary operational and administrative support, and attend meetings with key customers to discuss issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with core domain knowledge in logistics/distribution environments.
• Experience: 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment; 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), demonstrated proficiency in WMS systems, strong business communication (English reading, writing, verbal), good organizational and personnel skills, good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree. Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months. Adaptability to change and ability to thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
