District Sales Manager – New England | Palo Alto Networks

The Tone:
This is a remote managerial role at Palo Alto Networks, leading enterprise sales efforts across New England and Upstate New York. This position is crucial for developing and executing regional sales plans, driving revenue, and nurturing a high-performing sales team dedicated to solving real-world problems for customers.

• Team: Oversees a portion of the regional salesforce within the IDIRA regional sales team.
• Mission: To manage, motivate, and develop a regional sales team to achieve sales plans and projections for Palo Alto Networks’ cybersecurity offerings in the New England and Upstate NY territory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and foster the professional growth of sales team members to align with company values and business objectives.
• Performance Management: Manage and motivate the direct team by correlating performance expectations to business goals, including guiding account planning, proposal development, and providing consistent feedback.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate a network of customer executive relationships independently and with team members to expand programs, identify new opportunities, and execute customer negotiations.
• Partner Collaboration: Work with local Value-Added Resellers, participate in quarterly reviews with key partners and tech alliances, and conduct biweekly meetings with Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Professional Services leads.
• Strategic Sales: Be directly involved and influential in top opportunities, focusing sales efforts on large key accounts with the team and acting as a liaison with Research & Development and Project Management when necessary.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial role in enterprise software sales with required information security/network architecture experience. A Bachelor’s degree (preferably Computer Science), CISSP certification, or MBA is preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years as an enterprise software sales executive in the region and as a manager of teams. Demonstrated ability to cultivate, qualify, and close enterprise software agreements with Fortune 1000 clients, with proven ability to call on Fortune 500 C-Suite executives across multiple buying centers.
• Skills: Expert negotiation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills across internal and external stakeholders, above average organizational and planning skills, accurate forecasting abilities, advanced critical thinking and problem-solving, highly effective presentation skills, and excellent analytical skills to translate market trends and sales data.
• Bonus: Experience working with top Global Systems Integrators is preferred. Sales engineering, programming, and/or technical implementation/support experience is a plus.
