Machine Learning Intern Job Description

As a Machine Learning Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists on cutting-edge Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence projects. Your primary focus will be on advancing physical sensing systems within the innovative Spotter platform and its broader sensing ecosystem.

Internship Details

  • Duration: Summer 2026, from June 29th to August 21st. A minimum commitment of 10 weeks is required.
  • Work Schedule: Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week.
  • International Students: If your work authorization is CPT-based, please consult your academic institution before applying to ensure compliance with school regulations.

Responsibilities

As an intern, you will play a hands-on role in various stages of the project lifecycle:

  • Prototyping & Iteration: Implement and refine prototype models and features, working closely under the expert guidance of senior engineers and scientists.
  • Analysis & Communication: Conduct thorough analyses, distill complex insights, and present them clearly through digital communications to a diverse audience.
  • Data Management: Maintain exceptionally clean and well-organized data and metadata, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Exposure: Gain unparalleled exposure to a wide array of disciplines, including hardware engineering, software development, field operations, manufacturing processes, design principles, physical sciences, and advanced data sciences.

Minimum Job Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess a strong foundational knowledge and a proactive approach:

  • Academic Background: Have successfully completed graduate-level coursework in key areas such as Computer Science, Data Science, and/or AI/ML fields.
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to autonomously lead and successfully complete projects, encompassing development, rigorous testing, and iterative refinement.
  • Mindset: Exhibit a strong self-starting mindset, showing initiative and proactive engagement.
