Job Description: Machine Learning Applied Science Intern
Mission: To develop the systems and frameworks that power Amazon’s cutting-edge AI capabilities.
Focus: Information and Knowledge Management in Machine Learning
Location: Positions are available in Arlington, VA; Bellevue, WA; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Palo Alto, CA; San Diego, CA; Santa Clara, CA; and Seattle, WA.
Responsibilities:
• Develop Intuitive Tools and Workflows: Create systems that empower machine learning teams to discover, reuse, and build upon existing models and datasets, accelerating innovation across the company.
• Unlock Insights from Unstructured Data: Leverage natural language processing and information retrieval techniques to extract valuable information from vast repositories of data.
• Conduct Groundbreaking Research: Explore emerging best practices and innovations in ML operations, knowledge engineering, and information management, proposing novel approaches to enhance Amazon’s AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with Diverse Teams: Work alongside talented individuals to solve complex business problems.
Key Requirements:
• Enrolled in a PhD program
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
• Expertise in:
• Knowledge Graphs and Extraction
• Neural Networks/GNNs
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Time Series
• Machine Learning
• Natural Language Processing
• Deep Learning
• Large Language Models
• Graph Modeling
• Programming/Scripting Languages
Preferred Qualifications:
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications
• Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and TensorFlow
Compensation:
• Base pay ranges from $65.38/hr to $106.83/hr depending on location.
• Total compensation package may include equity, sign-on payments, and benefits.
