Job Description: Logistics Intern
This internship at POET Biofuels offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, growing company. The intern will support schedulers, dispatch groups, and production facilities, working directly with commercial business partners. Responsibilities will mirror those of permanent employees, providing valuable on-the-job training. The role involves contributing to company efficiency and growth through various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creating shipping orders (SO) and entering bills of lading (BOL).
• Forecasting customer product demand.
• Forecasting bioprocessing facility production and inventory levels.
• Dispatching shipments with partner carriers and verifying delivery details.
• Communicating production, inventory, and shipment forecasts and status to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contributing to additional tasks as needed based on team requirements.
Qualifications:
• Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week during the summer of 2025.
• Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) from an accredited university with a GPA reflecting strong work ethic.
• Zero to two years of experience in a business setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to learn new software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and a desire to exceed expectations.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to team improvement.
• Attention to detail and ability to see the “big picture.”
• Poise, agility, and open-mindedness when faced with uncertainty.
