Loan Processor | DHI Mortgage

The Tone:
This is a full-time Loan Processor role within the Branch Department at DHI Mortgage, a key subsidiary of D.R. The Loan Processor is essential for streamlining the mortgage financing process, ensuring both D.R. Horton’s builders and their homebuyers receive a high level of support and customer service throughout their home purchase journey.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Loan File Management: Oversee the complete mortgage loan file process, meticulously tracking its progress from initial receipt by the Loan Officer through to securing final approval from underwriting.
• Documentation and System Review: Conduct thorough reviews of loan files to ensure correct stacking order, initial Automated Underwriting (AU) findings, and the presence of all appropriate documentation, subsequently inputting any necessary changes into the computer systems and re-running for an accurate AU determination.
• Underwriting Coordination: Facilitate the submission of all loan files to a DHI Underwriter at the Regional Underwriting Center, diligently reviewing and addressing all conditions received from underwriting by making necessary system adjustments and resubmitting to the AU system.
• Compliance and Quality Control: Actively comply with all Quality Control policies, which includes attending scheduled QC meetings, reviewing all files against DHI Mortgage required checklists, and providing timely responses to all QC write-ups within 10 calendar days.
• Reporting and Communication: Proactively monitor and review daily reports such as Loan Processor, Project to Close, and Timeline Exception, in addition to a weekly review of the Loans in Process Report; diligently maintain an accurate communication log, review the Loan Officer’s “needs list,” reconcile the Fee Summary Sheet, and attend weekly processor meetings as directed by the Branch Manager.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a one-year certificate from college or technical school, capable of understanding and executing instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Experience: Minimum of three to six months of related experience and/or training. Proficiency in MS Office applications and email is required.
• Skills: Strong written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large amounts of data.
