What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile various mortgage-related accounts, including escrow cash and liability accounts, leveraging your superpower for accuracy to ensure all numbers align perfectly.
• Transaction Processing: Process and meticulously record detailed loan-level financial transactions within the company’s accounting systems, ensuring every numerical detail is correct.
• Payment Issuance: Take responsibility for issuing timely escrow payments on behalf of borrowers, ensuring that critical tax bills and insurance premiums are handled accurately and without delay.
• Inquiry Management: Respond to a range of email inquiries from both internal teams and external partners, providing clear, careful, and precise answers to questions related to borrower transactions.
• Appraisal Support: Provide crucial assistance to the appraisal team, focusing on the reconciliation of borrower appraisal amounts, applying your accounting expertise to ensure financial consistency in this area.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a foundational understanding of accounting principles, demonstrated by a recent accounting degree or up to a couple of years of experience in an accounting role. This position is suitable for early-career professionals.
• Experience: Proven familiarity with credits and debits, coupled with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities within a professional context.
