Litigation Docket Clerk | Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP
The Tone:
This is a Litigation Docket Clerk position at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, located in Boston, Century City, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) or Washington D.C., with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. This role is crucial for supporting the firm’s litigation practice firmwide, serving as an integral part of the team by maintaining the firm’s docket system and ensuring all litigation deadlines are accurately tracked and communicated.

• Mission: Maintains the firm’s litigation docket system by identifying pertinent deadlines and preparing master calendars to ensure compliance for lawyers and staff across multiple courts and jurisdictions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Maintenance: Maintains the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Information Gathering: Obtains filing information from court clerks and online dockets.
• Deadline Management: Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
• Research & Support: Researches questions from attorneys, paralegals, and/or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, and local rules.
• Request Response: Responds to requests regarding calendared events, pleadings, court procedures, and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent with an understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures, along with familiarity with court filings and general rules of court at federal, state, and county levels.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail, ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred, experience preferably in a large law firm, and proficiency with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software.
