Litigation Docket Clerk | Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP

The Tone:
This is a Litigation Docket Clerk position at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule available in Boston, Century City, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto), or Washington D.C. This role is crucial for supporting the firm’s litigation practice firmwide, serving as an integral part of the team by ensuring accurate and timely management of critical legal deadlines.

• Pay: $53,200-$85,150 (Boston, Chicago); $57,900-$92,550 (Orange County, Century City, Los Angeles, New York); $55,500-$88,800 (Seattle, Washington D.C.); $60,190-$96,265 (San Francisco, Silicon Valley) yearly
• Team: Supports the firm’s litigation practice firmwide
• Mission: Ensures accurate and timely management of court deadlines and related information for litigation lawyers across multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, CompuLaw or comparable docketing software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Maintain the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Obtain: Obtain filing information from court clerks and online dockets.
• Prepare: Identify pertinent deadlines and prepare a master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
• Research: Research questions from attorneys, paralegals, or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, and local rules.
• Respond: Respond to requests regarding calendared events, pleadings, court procedures, and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience desired, preferably in a large law firm.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, strong proofreading skills, exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred, understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures, familiarity with court filings and general rules of court (federal, state, and county), experience with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software.
