What We Look For In a Linear Algebra Tutor
- Advanced Subject Mastery:

- Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving:
- Skill in breaking down complex procedures like Gaussian elimination, matrix factorization, and eigenvalue computation.
- Adeptness at guiding students through proving linear independence, constructing orthonormal bases via Gram-Schmidt, and applying least squares approximation.
- Emphasis on the geometric interpretation of transformations and connecting linear algebra to real-world applications in computer graphics, machine learning, and quantum mechanics.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
- Familiarity with standard linear algebra curricula and common student challenges (e.g., understanding abstract vector spaces, computing determinants of large matrices, grasping the significance of eigenvalues).
- Ability to adapt instruction using matrix visualization tools, computational software (e.g., MATLAB or Python), and concrete application examples.
- Capacity to support students across all levels, from introductory to advanced undergraduate.
- Effective Teaching Methods:
