The TL;DR
• Role: Varies (Full-time and Part-time options)
• Mission: Ensure the cost-effective preparation of quality food in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining compliance with proper food preparation and handling policies, brand standards, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Food Preparation: Prepare and portion ingredients for various dishes, following recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
• Cooking Operations: Cook and grill a diverse range of menu items, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces, with precision and attention to detail, coordinating with other kitchen staff to maintain efficiency during busy periods.
• Station Management: Set up, organize, and maintain a clean cooking station with necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients before service, ensuring equipment and utensils are properly maintained.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect ingredients and finished dishes for quality, taste, and appearance, addressing any issues promptly to maintain food standards.
• Safety Compliance: Follow food safety and sanitation practices to prevent cross-contamination, spoilage, and health hazards, and promptly report any emergencies, accidents, injuries, or safety concerns to management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school education supplemented by schooling in culinary arts or a related major.
• Experience: One or more years of previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of various cooking techniques and food preparation methods, basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ability to work well under pressure and meet timing requirements, and the capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
