About the Job: Legal Intern – M&A Legal Group

Create Music Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join its M&A Legal Group. This unique internship offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in music-related transactions and corporate legal work. The intern will work directly under the guidance of the VP of M&A Legal Affairs, contributing to a range of strategic initiatives. The role primarily focuses on acquisitions, intellectual property, and corporate compliance, with a particular emphasis on music catalog acquisitions.

This is a part-time, fully remote internship specifically designed for current graduate students for the Fall 2025 term. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be available for 10–20 hours per week over a 3-month period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the drafting and review of asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and other related transactional documents.
• Conducting legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
• Supporting the preparation and submission of copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office.
• Aiding in the management and maintenance of corporate organizational documents and ensuring ongoing compliance (e.g., filings, entity records, debt compliance).
• Reviewing and revising non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with prospective partners and counterparties.
• Organizing and tracking deal documents and legal correspondence.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with finance, operations, and A&R teams on various transaction-related tasks.
• Providing administrative support for ongoing legal projects as assigned by the VP of M&A Legal Affairs.
• Opportunities to support additional tasks based on the intern’s interest and availability.

Qualifications:

• Must be a current law student (2L or 3L preferred) enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
• Possess a strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music/media industry.
• Demonstrate excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
• Exhibit a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law, including previous internships, is considered a plus.

Pay Scale:

The compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 to $17.87 per hour. The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.

Program Details:

Start Date: Flexible, aligning with the Fall academic calendar.
Length: The internship will run for a duration of 3 months.
Schedule: Interns are expected to work 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate school commitments.
Location: This is a fully remote position.
