Job Description: Legal Intern (M&A Legal Group)

Create Music Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join its M&A Legal Group. This is a unique, part-time internship opportunity designed for current graduate students for the Fall 2025 term. The intern will gain hands-on experience in music-related transactions and corporate legal work, reporting directly to the VP of M&A Legal Affairs. The role involves supporting strategic initiatives related to acquisitions, intellectual property, and corporate compliance, with a particular focus on music catalog acquisitions. This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and related transactional documents.
• Conduct legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
• Support the preparation and submission of copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office.
• Help manage and maintain corporate organizational documents and ensure ongoing compliance (e.g., filings, entity records, debt compliance).
• Review and revise non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with prospective partners and counterparties.
• Organize and track deal documents and legal correspondence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and A&R teams on transaction-related tasks.
• Provide administrative support for ongoing legal projects as assigned by the VP of M&A Legal Affairs.
• Opportunities to support additional tasks based on interest and availability.

Qualifications:

• Must be a current law student (2L or 3L preferred) enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
• Possess a strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music/media industry.
• Demonstrate excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Be detail-oriented with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law (including internships) is a plus.

Pay Scale:

• The compensation for this role is between $16.00 and $17.87 per hour.
• The final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.

Program Details:

Start Date: Flexible, aligned with the Fall academic calendar.
Length: 3 months.
Schedule: 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate school commitments.
