Legal Intern | SI-BONE

The Tone:
This is an internship at SI-BONE, located in Santa Clara, CA. SI-BONE is a publicly traded medical device company that pioneers minimally invasive sacropelvic solutions, specifically for the sacroiliac (SI) joint with its iFuse Implant System. This role offers the opportunity to support the Legal Department’s daily operations, providing exposure to commercial agreements and corporate legal processes within a medical device setting.

• Mission: This person ensures smooth legal operations by supporting contract management, document review, and corporate governance activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Agreement Drafting: Draft a variety of commercial agreements, including Data Use Agreements (DUA), Healthcare Professional Agreements (HCP), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA).
• Negotiation Support: Participate in corporate negotiations with vendors, distributors, resellers, and collaborators, gaining practical exposure to commercial deal-making.
• Document Review: Redline and review incoming agreements from third parties, identifying key issues and flagging areas of concern for attorney review.
• Document Management: Classify, organize, and maintain legal documents and agreements within the company’s online document repository, ensuring accurate categorization and version control.
• Corporate Document Analysis: Review and summarize internal corporate documents, such as governance records.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited university or law school, pursuing an entry-level internship. A minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent is required.
• Experience: No specific prior professional legal experience is required; candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in corporate, transactional, or healthcare law.
• Skills: Strong legal research abilities, proficient legal writing, keen analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Bonus: Engagement in coursework or projects relevant to the medical device industry or the legal role is a plus.
