The Tone:
This is an internship at Dave & Buster’s, a national brand with its Store Support Center located in Coppell, TX, operating on a hybrid schedule. This position provides a hands-on opportunity to delve into the operations of a corporate legal department. The Legal Intern will contribute to real business and legal initiatives, gaining valuable exposure to diverse legal functions such as research, contract review, compliance projects, and risk management. This role offers mentorship from experienced legal professionals and executive exposure through structured workshops, all while understanding how legal teams strategically partner with leaders across the organization to support a national brand.

• Mission: This person will contribute to the corporate legal department by conducting research, reviewing contracts, and assisting with compliance and risk management to support Dave & Buster’s business and legal objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research to support ongoing business and legal initiatives within the corporate framework.
• Contract Review: Review and analyze various contracts, identifying key terms and implications for business operations.
• Compliance Projects: Actively participate in compliance projects, contributing to efforts that ensure the company adheres to relevant legal and industry standards.
• Risk Management: Support risk management work, helping to identify potential legal risks and contributing to strategies for mitigation.
• Strategic Project: Work on a defined business project over the 10-week program, culminating in the development and presentation of findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently a rising college senior who is keenly interested in pursuing law school or establishing a legal career path.
• Experience: Academic preparedness for analytical and research-intensive work, suitable for an entry-level legal role.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong research, writing, and analytical abilities; highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess a strong eagerness to learn and grow within a corporate legal environment.
