About the Position
This is an unpaid internship position specifically designed for law students seeking to fulfill externship academic credit during the Summer 2026 term.
- Time Commitment: Approximately 15-20 hours per week.
- Work Arrangement: A hybrid work arrangement is preferred, offering flexibility; however, fully remote arrangements may be considered based on circumstances.
Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities
As a Legal Intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience and professional development through a variety of tasks and mentorship opportunities:
- Legal Department Engagement: Assist with and actively participate in the daily activities and special projects of the Legal Department.
- Mentorship: Benefit from direct coaching and mentoring by seasoned in-house attorneys.
- Meetings & Presentations: Attend and participate in various legal and business meetings and presentations.
- Legal Drafting: Draft memoranda on areas of legal interest, potentially including commercial compliance, intellectual property, and/or employment law, and receive constructive feedback on your work.
- Contract Management: Learn the intricacies of the commercial contract process and gain experience in reviewing contracts.
- Legal Tools & Systems: Develop proficiency with important legal tools and systems utilized within an in-house legal department.
- Policy & Process Familiarization: Review and become thoroughly familiar with Repligen’s internal policies and processes.
- Networking: Develop professional relationships with organizational leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Shadowing: Shadow attorneys in critical meetings and negotiations to observe practical legal strategy and application.
Qualifications
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong academic foundation and a keen interest in corporate legal practice:
- Academic Enrollment: Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
- Academic Record: Demonstrated strong GPA and academic record.
- Professionalism: Possess a highly motivated, responsible, and professional approach to work.
- Communication & Organization: Exhibit well-developed organizational and communication skills.
- Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work effectively both as a member of a team and independently as experience progresses.
- Career Interest: A genuine interest in in-house legal work, with a specific interest in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or bioprocessing industries.
- Learning Aptitude: A strong desire to learn and develop key legal skills in a corporate environment.
