Legal Intern | Ventra Health
The Tone:
This is an internship at Ventra Health, with services primarily performed remotely, though some limited in-office time may be required. Fully remote will be considered, but candidates able to work West Coast hours are preferred. Ventra Health is a leading business solutions provider for facility-based physicians practicing anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, pathology, and radiology, focused on Revenue Cycle Management. This role supports Ventra’s in-house corporate legal department by assisting with various projects, ensuring compliance and efficient legal operations, which enables clinicians to focus on providing outstanding care.
The TL;DR

• Mission: Assist the in-house corporate legal department with projects, contract management, corporate maintenance, compliance, and legal research.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform Legal Research: Conduct legal research regarding various legal healthcare and compliance-related topics.
• Manage Contracts: Review, draft, and log customer and vendor agreements, including confidentiality agreements.
• Ensure Compliance: Review, organize, and track various consent documents, manage state filings and business licenses, and perform general corporate maintenance activities.
• Prepare Documents: Draft legal correspondence and reports for the legal department.
• Support Projects: Assist with various legal and compliance-related projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree and currently a second or third-year student pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree in an accredited law program.
• Experience: No specific years required.
• Skills: Well-organized with excellent attention to details, strong ethical standards, ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies, strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Westlaw.
• Bonus: Contract review/management, corporate legal, or healthcare-related experience.
