Legal Coordinator | WME Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at WME Group, located in New York, NY. WME Group is seeking a highly motivated Legal Coordinator to join its Legal and Business Affairs team, specifically supporting the Brand Strategy division. This position is vital for maintaining an efficient and effective contract administration and document management process, directly contributing to the seamless execution of commercial transactions and strategic partnerships within WME’s brand strategy initiatives.

• Team: Supporting the Legal and Business Affairs team for the Brand Strategy division, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel.
• Mission: To ensure efficient legal operations, robust contract administration, and effective document management processes for the Brand Strategy division’s legal and business affairs.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Assist with the initial drafting, careful revising, and diligent negotiation of various legal instruments, including non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, and key talent/influencer, vendor, and master services agreements.
• Document Management: Systematically manage the comprehensive filing and efficient search of all legal documents, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the team.
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement operational efficiencies, create standardized templates, and establish robust trackers within WME Brand Strategy’s Legal and Business Affairs team to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
• Obligation Tracking: Conduct thorough research, manage, and meticulously track existing contractual obligations, ensuring the team is well-informed and compliant.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely and proactively with WME’s global legal, business affairs, operations, finance, and other internal teams to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
• Special Projects: Participate in and contribute to special projects and other assigned duties that support the broader goals of the Legal and Business Affairs team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, and admission to the New York state bar is mandatory, signifying a foundational legal qualification.
• Experience: 1-2 years of legal experience with a strong focus on contracts, particularly within sectors such as advertising/marketing, digital media/technology, entertainment, sports, or general media.
• Skills: Possess strong written and oral communication skills for clear and effective legal discourse; be detail-oriented, highly organized, and thorough to ensure accuracy in all tasks; demonstrate the ability to take ownership of projects and work independently; exhibit an effective solution-oriented problem-solving approach to address issues; maintain a curious mind with a strong work ethic and a highly team-oriented approach to work; and be able to handle ambiguity and change while prioritizing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Bonus: Prior transactional experience gained at a top law firm or within an in-house practice, specifically including experience with commercial transactions or sponsorship agreements.
