The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at W3Global, located in Encino, CA. The firm operates as a boutique defense law firm, dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services through a personalized approach. Their team manages a diverse range of defense matters, emphasizing efficiency, collaborative teamwork, and robust client advocacy in all their undertakings. This Legal Assistant position is central to the firm’s operations, playing a crucial role in maintaining comprehensive case organization, diligently managing critical deadlines, and ensuring the seamless day-to-day functioning of the practice. The individual in this role will provide essential support to attorneys throughout every phase of litigation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of legal proceedings.
• Document Preparation & Filing: Meticulously prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings, and manage all required filings including e-filing in state and federal courts.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Manage attorney calendars, track critical deadlines, and coordinate court dates, depositions, hearings, and various meetings.
• Case Management & Communication: Systematically maintain and organize both electronic and physical case files, and facilitate professional communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Billing Administration: Accurately track billable time and assist with the firm’s billing processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules, having experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within a defense firm environment.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of direct experience as a Legal Assistant is required, with specific experience in e-filing within California courts.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities, strong written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include prior experience with legal software or case management systems, and specific experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or other related practice areas. Additionally, candidates should possess a high attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
