About the Company:
Disney Enterprise Financial Services is a growing team within The Walt Disney Company. They are comprised of process experts and accounting professionals who provide accounting services to the entire company. Specifically, this internship opportunity is within a team supporting Corporate Real Estate, focusing on the accurate accounting of lease holdings across all Disney business segments.
Detailed Job Description:
This is a full-time, six-month internship (January 2025 – June 2025) located in Orlando, Florida. As a Lease Accounting Graduate Intern, your responsibilities will include:
• Journal Entries: Preparation and processing of journal entries.
• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations: Reconciling balance sheet accounts related to lease accounting.
• Accounting Research and Analysis: Conducting research and analysis to support lease accounting processes.
• Accruals: Calculating and recording accruals related to lease expenses.
• Close Related Tasks: Assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Lease Accounting Straight Line Schedules: Developing and maintaining schedules for straight-line lease accounting.
• SOX Compliance: Supporting compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Processing Invoices: Handling invoice processing and related tasks.
• Various Other Project Work: Contributing to other projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables).
• Ability to build strong relationships in a professional client service-oriented environment.
• Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, partnering, and customer service skills.
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
• Self-driven, independent thinker with flexibility.
• Proactive approach to process improvements and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience/exposure working with Power Apps (within Microsoft Suite).
• Previous accounting internship and/or work experience.
• Working towards a CPA.
Education Requirements:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university and taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to the internship, OR have graduated within the last 6 months, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
• Currently pursuing or having graduated within the last 6 months with a master’s degree or PhD in Accounting and/or MBA.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Must not have completed one year of continuous employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
Additional Information:
• The internship is primarily an on-site position in Orlando, FL, requiring a reliable internet connection and dedicated workspace for any work-from-home days.
• Candidates must arrange their own housing and transportation. Limited housing opportunities are available for Florida-based interns through American Campus Communities.
• Full-time availability (approximately 40 hours per week) is required for the duration of the internship.
