Leadership Foundations Program Associate | Mustang Cat
The Tone:
This is an 18-24 month early career leadership development position at Mustang Cat, located in Southeast Texas. Mustang Cat is a leading Caterpillar dealer, proudly serving construction, oil & gas, power generation, marine, and manufacturing industries since 1952. Participants will gain foundational skills, operational knowledge, and business acumen through hands-on experience and professional coaching, contributing directly to Mustang Cat’s mission of building Texas and powering the world.

• Mission: To cultivate future leaders within Mustang Cat by providing a comprehensive development program focused on foundational skills, operational knowledge, and business acumen through rotational assignments.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Immersion: Gain comprehensive operational understanding of Mustang Cat’s business, various product lines, and diverse customer base.
• Rotational Assignments: Complete daily responsibilities and participate in structured rotational assignments across multiple departments and business units such as Power Systems, Service, Rental Services, SITECH, Parts, and Sales Administration.
• Leadership Development: Develop core leadership competencies through structured coursework, personalized one-on-one coaching, and mentorship from experienced Mustang Cat leaders.
• Executive Engagement & Project Support: Participate in lunch-and-learn sessions with executive leadership, support organizational projects, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Professional Presentations & Collaboration: Deliver professional presentations showcasing development progress, project successes, and lessons learned, while collaborating with fellow program participants and departmental teams to achieve operational goals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required. This is an early career opportunity for individuals with a strong desire to grow into future leadership roles within the organization.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required. Previous leadership, internship, project management, or team-based experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt quickly and think on your feet; strong organizational and time management skills; mechanical aptitude; commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Bonus: Interest in heavy equipment, construction equipment, industrial power, or equipment rental industries; experience working in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or technical environments; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
