Leadership Development in Procurement Associate | Bayer

The Tone:
This is an 18-month associate program role at Bayer, located in Creve Coeur, MO. Bayer is a global life science company focused on solving the world’s toughest challenges to achieve a future where health for all and hunger for none is a reality. This role is vital for cultivating procurement professionals equipped with essential skills to lead initiatives, drive advancements, and shape the strategic direction of Bayer’s worldwide Procurement organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotations: Contribute to project-based assignments across Procurement areas like Sustainability & Risk Management, Direct Materials, and Digital Procurement, delivering key tasks and business outcomes.
• Negotiations: Prepare for and support supplier negotiations, which includes pricing analysis, sourcing processes, and identifying opportunities for spend and cost savings.
• Digital Enhancement: Employ AI tools and digital advancements to enhance category management, improve sourcing strategies, and enable data-driven decision-making within Procurement.
• Collaboration: Foster collaboration and build strong, cross-functional relationships within Bayer’s global Procurement community and other business functions to advance aligned, value-creating initiatives.
• Development: Engage with mentors and senior stakeholders, actively expanding your network and driving professional growth through structured feedback, reflection, and ownership of end-to-end initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Receiving a Master’s degree or PhD by June 2027, with a commitment to driving value creation across the supply chain.
• Experience: Eligible to work in the US, with willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (15%).
• Skills: Demonstrated learning agility, strong sense of ownership, collaboration across cultures, analytical skills for decision-making, excellent communication skills, and fluency in English.
• Bonus: Initial work experience, such as internships, with international experience considered a plus; 3.3 GPA or higher.
