Lead Business Analyst | Money-Media
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Money-Media, operating under a hybrid working model. Money-Media is part of the Financial Times, a leading global news organisation renowned for its authority, integrity, and accuracy, dedicated to delivering quality information and services worldwide. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of change delivery within FT’s Product & Technology organisation. You will lead the assessment and analysis of new initiatives, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure informed investment and delivery decisions align with strategic objectives.

• Team: Reports into the Portfolio & Programmes team.
• Mission: To lead the assessment, discovery, and technical analysis of new initiatives, ensuring they are well-understood, scoped, and ready for prioritisation and planning to support FT’s strategic objectives.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead initiative assessment: Lead the assessment and triage of new change initiatives entering the Product & Technology portfolio.
• Facilitate discovery: Facilitate discovery workshops to understand business needs, define outcomes, and clarify requirements.
• Partner on solutions: Partner with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Delivery teams to assess solution options, technical feasibility, and delivery complexity.
• Support decision-making: Support business case development, investment decisions, and portfolio prioritisation with clear analysis and recommendations.
• Champion best practices: Define and champion business analysis standards, tools, and best practices across the organisation while coaching and mentoring other Business Analysts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Significant experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst within technology, digital product, or transformation environments.
• Experience: Extensive experience leading discovery, requirements gathering, and solution assessment activities. This includes working closely with engineering, architecture, product, and delivery teams, and supporting business cases, investment decisions, and portfolio planning.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business and technical challenges into clear, actionable requirements. Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Bonus: Experience within media, publishing, digital subscription, or technology-led organisations. Knowledge of Agile, Lean delivery approaches, or modern product operating models, and exposure to enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, or data platforms.
