Business Systems Lead Engineer – Investment & Ops Technology | MFS Investment Management

• Team: Leads across multiple Agile teams, partnering with Business and Technology teams.
• Mission: Deliver technical solutions to enhance and support Eagle Accounting, Performance and Reference Data modules, integrating with various Investments and Operations applications, and defining a scalable future target state.
• Tech Stack: Eagle Accounting, Performance and Reference Data modules, CRIMS, SmartStream, CA SAAS, Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure OpenAI / Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), Java, Python, Azure DevOps.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead software development efforts throughout the lifecycle, focusing on advanced software creation while adhering to established standards and best practices.
• Serve as a technical and functional lead for small to midsized projects in an Agile environment, partnering with Business and Technology teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Establish, document, and enforce technical standards and best practices across all project phases and provide ongoing process support, including on-call responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, and Operations stakeholders to deliver technical solutions enhancing and supporting Eagle Accounting, Performance, and Reference Data modules.
• Evaluate existing processes and technology to define and implement a scalable future state for customized fund accounting, performance measurement, pricing, and security master functionalities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience. This is a senior-level position requiring deep domain expertise in financial services operations and investment systems.
• Experience: Minimum 5-6+ years of experience in Financial Services supporting Operations, Trading, or Investment systems, with extensive technical expertise and functional understanding of the Eagle suite of products, including PACE database, STAR Accounting, Web Panel designer, and Message Center rules configuration.
• Skills: Strong development experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; familiarity with the Microsoft AI ecosystem (Azure OpenAI/AI, Copilot, Power Platform); proven ability to analyze operational workflows for automation; and excellent communication.
• Bonus: Experience in Java or Python development, working in CI/CD environments (preferably Azure DevOps), and familiarity with platforms like Charles River, SmartStream, or S&P Corporate Actions. Prior project experience with Data Strategies configuration in Eagle Reference Data Center and Rules configuration in Performance engine is also a plus.
