CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions provides integrated real estate accounting and fund administration services to developers, investors, and asset managers worldwide, combining industry expertise with leading technology. As a Lead Accountant, you will be instrumental in helping to build and shape a growing Investment Accounting function in Sweden. This position is vital for delivering high-quality financial reporting and robust controls, while contributing significantly to the development of a scalable accounting platform within a leading global real estate organisation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Oversee, review, and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages, ensuring the production of statutory financial statements in line with Swedish regulations.
• General Ledger & Reconciliation: Prepare necessary journal entries, actively maintain the integrity of the general ledger, diligently oversee all financial closing processes, and perform essential reconciliations, variance analysis, and tax/VAT filings.
• Compliance & Control: Ensure strict compliance with Swedish GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies, support robust financial controls and SOC 1 processes, promptly identify and resolve discrepancies, and coordinate payments and liquidity forecasting.
• Audit & Improvement: Coordinate and support both internal and external audits, actively driving process improvements, and participating in key projects to enhance accounting operations and a scalable platform.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal accounting teams and global stakeholders, engage effectively with clients, auditors, and external advisors, and build strong relationships to deliver exceptional client service.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and general accounting principles.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on work with financial statements, reconciliations, tax, and VAT filings.
• Skills: Strong understanding of Swedish GAAP and IFRS, advanced Excel skills, fluency in both Swedish and English, and demonstrated analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience with real estate or property accounting, particularly with PropCo structures, familiarity with Yardi or similar accounting systems, and exposure to Nordic markets.
