What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Assist with the comprehensive intake, detailed analysis, and production of data in a large, complex multi-plaintiff case.
• Legal Support: Conduct thorough legal research pertinent to ongoing trials, supporting attorneys directly in the preparation of motions, further legal research, and deposition materials.
• Team Leadership: Provide onsite leadership and mentorship to a small team of law clerks and paralegals, guiding and assisting the project management team in overseeing multiple workflows for the case.
• Case Operations Oversight: Oversee critical internal onsite management documents, including the data catalog and task tracker, to ensure the efficient and continuous progress of the case in collaboration with the project management team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a professional with at least 2-3 years of experience, specializing in eDiscovery, legal research, and legal writing, prepared to step into an onsite leadership capacity.
• Experience: Candidates must possess 2-3 years of direct experience in eDiscovery and legal research and writing. This includes demonstrated proficiency in using Relativity or Relativity One for tasks such as creating saved searches and accurately reviewing and tagging documents for relevance, privilege, and confidentiality. A proven ability to lead a team of law clerks in a “first among equals” capacity supporting major litigation is essential.
• Skills: Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, and Word, is required. A working knowledge of law related to electronic discovery and proficiency with various legal research tools are also critical.
• Bonus: Desired qualifications include demonstrated “power user” proficiency with Relativity and other electronic discovery applications, alongside comfort with structured analytics terminology. A proven ability to effectively lead a team of law clerks in litigation support and work directly with project managers to meet team needs is highly valued.
