Job Description, Detailed
This position is for Landscape Architecture students to join Kimley-Horn’s Fort Collins, Colorado (CO) office. This is an non-remote role.
The role involves contributing to significant projects that shape the future built environment, offering a hands-on learning experience within a professional consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Regularly utilize technical software programs for the analysis, production, and quality control (QC) of client deliverables.
• Actively contribute to various stages of project development, including site planning, urban design, and landscape design.
• Support projects through graphic and technical production.
• Engage in complex problem-solving.
• Provide direct assistance to project managers.
• Collaborate across multiple disciplines to successfully realize clients’ visions for future developments.
• Develop a strong familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations pertinent to projects.
• Learn and adhere to Kimley-Horn’s and its clients’ established practices, procedures, and standards.
• Gain proficiency in one or more essential software programs, including Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, Illustrator, GIS/Arcview, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Excel.

Projects undertaken can be diverse and include, but are not limited to:
• Land planning initiatives
• Urban design and redevelopment projects
• Mixed-use developments
• Various types of residential development
• Streetscape designs
• Development of design guidelines
• Public infrastructure design
• Parks and other community facility designs
Qualifications:
• Candidates must currently be in the process of pursuing a Landscape Architecture Degree (either a Bachelor’s or Master’s).
Compensation:
• The hourly rate for this position is $25-$26.
