2027 University New Hire-Lubricants | Phillips 66

The Tone:
This is a full-time early career role at Phillips 66, located in Houston, TX. Phillips 66 is one of the largest finished lubricants suppliers in the U.S., manufacturing and marketing high-quality base oils and sophisticated formulations across various industries. This role offers university new hires a structured development program to transition into the professional world, providing tools to successfully launch a career within the company’s energy value chain, specifically starting in the Lubricants organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage in KATALYST, a premier industry-leading energy commodity supply and trading development program for market-savvy university hires.
• Complete a brief but dynamic immersion into the Phillips 66 energy value chain, including asset tours, case studies, and discussions with subject matter experts.
• Apply knowledge in two targeted roles within the Lubricants organization in Houston, TX, aimed at impacting the business and building relationships.
• Acquire professional and market acumen through experiential learning and development opportunities during assignments.
• Cultivate a fulfilling career by gaining transferable skills applicable to organizations like Marketing, Lubricants, Specialties, Value Chain and Optimization, and Risk.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level role for a candidate graduating prior to December 31, 2026 or May 31, 2027. Requires current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics/Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent field of study; or a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or MBA. Must be legally authorized to work in the job posting country and available to work at Houston, TX headquarters.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience is required for this university new hire role.
• Skills: Analytical capability, ambitious and driven nature, business acumen, valuing collaboration, strong communication skills, curious and inquisitive mindset, innovative thinking, shared values, passion for industry, and an interest in trading.
• Bonus: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, previous internship or co-op participation in a related industry, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
