The Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) program is a 12-week internship designed to provide students with hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities in sustainability and ecological transformation. The program runs from June 1, 2026, to August 21, 2026, aiming to nurture talent and foster meaningful connections within the industry.

Position Purpose

Veolia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Technical Project Management Intern to join its IT department for the summer 2026. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in project management within a dynamic IT environment.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technical project managers in planning, executing, and closing software development and IT infrastructure projects, utilizing both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Help create and maintain essential project documentation, including project plans, technical documentation, and change management documentation.
  • Actively participate in various project meetings, such as requirements gathering sessions, technical reviews, status updates with stakeholders, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Support the tracking of development progress and project metrics using tools like JIRA and Smartsheets.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating technical risks, dependencies, and compliance issues to relevant project stakeholders.
  • Support coordination efforts between development teams, business analysts, and QA teams.
  • Assist in preparing technical presentations and status reports for steering committee meetings.
  • Maintain critical project control documents, including risk registers, issue logs, and decision logs.
  • Ensure project deliverables align with established IT governance frameworks and organizational standards.
  • Learn and apply both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies in practical settings.
  • Assist in resource allocation tracking and budget monitoring activities.

Work Environment

Internship environments at Veolia vary depending on the specific function, ranging from office settings to field operations or plant locations. The program’s core objective is to provide each intern with tangible, real-world industry job experience.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Currently working towards a four-year degree and holding Senior status in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related major.
  • A 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, encompassing written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships effectively.
  • Strong interest in project management and Information Technology (IT).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Apps (Google Sheets and Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of project management concepts and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IT concepts and terminology.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Benefits: Interns are classified as temporary employees. Medical and basic life insurance coverage is available to temporary employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week, effective immediately following 60 days of service. Employees must elect or waive medical coverage within 45 days of their eligibility date. Veolia observes 11 holidays.
