This role is crucial for maintaining Tableau environments and developing dashboards, directly supporting the company’s data visualization and reporting needs. This position is ideal for someone eager to contribute to impactful data visualization and ensure the smooth operation of Tableau Server, helping the business make data-driven decisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administration: Assist in the administration and maintenance of Tableau Server, managing aspects such as user access, site creation, permissions, and scheduling data extracts, while also ensuring data security and compliance through access controls.
• Development: Design, build, and enhance interactive Tableau dashboards and visualizations, collaborating with analysts and business users to gather reporting requirements, and performing basic data analysis and validation.
• Monitoring: Monitor Tableau server performance and troubleshoot basic issues, working closely with senior administrators on server upgrades, patches, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Support: Provide user support and training for Tableau dashboards, helping users understand and effectively utilize the visualizations and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and usability of reports.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for dashboards and administrative procedures, participating in team meetings and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with 2-3 years total IT experience and a foundational understanding of dashboard development.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience with Tableau (Desktop and/or Server) and basic experience in dashboard or report development.
• Skills: Familiarity with data visualization best practices, understanding of SQL and relational databases, ability to troubleshoot and resolve Tableau-related issues, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Tableau Server Administration, familiarity with various data sources such as Excel, SQL Server, and Google BigQuery, exposure to ETL processes or tools, and knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Shell.
