Junior Structural CADD Designer | WSP

This role is crucial for our Transportation Team, contributing to projects by creating essential engineering contract documents and 3D designs that meet client objectives and solve complex challenges.

What You’ll Actually Do
• CADD Drawing and Model Creation: Utilize AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation to generate engineering contract documents (CADD drawings) and develop 3D designs and models.
• Document Drafting: Draft and create engineering contract documents based on engineering mark-ups, sketches, detailed drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Software Support: Assist office staff with CADD software usage, including troubleshooting any related issues.
• Project Collaboration: Work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute project tasks and achieve objectives.
• Quality and Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to WSP USA Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures, CADD protocol, and specific client standards and requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a High School Diploma and familiarity with drafting and design support principles, practices, and methods.
• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in a related field, specifically in drafting CADD software.
• Skills: Capable interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences; an analytical mindset for research and evaluation; the ability to accurately read and interpret plans, sketches, and drawings; and a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software applications.
• Bonus: An Associate’s Degree or some college in a closely related discipline; experience with TXDOT CADD standards; and familiarity with Digital Delivery software such as Bentley Open Road Modeler, Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, or AutoDesk InfraWorks.
